If he was bragging about it, probably true fuel.  What model and   How much did you pay for it ?

Interesting ... this commentary is too funny.   How did he define gasoline/fuel - refined petroleum used as fuel for internal combustion engines.   Any of the liquid fuels: TruFuel, Gas, ethanol, others would meet the Gas/fuel definition.   Maybe he discovered a NEW fuel ....

Ask him for his recommended mix ratio.  If he says add whale oil, mink oil, baby oil ...you may want to get a new auger.

BTW ...I have a Jiffy for sale ...mint shape ... and run it on pre-mixed TRuefuel.

truefuel is an alcohol free, high octane, detergent, stabilized gas. about $6/qt in home depot.
IMO, a waste of $$$. i've been using regular gas with stabil for 30 yrs in my Eskimo with no problems

I’ve got a few gassers and trufuel is great for storage of them. MIB (machanic in a bottle) for gummed up carbs has worked great for me. In weed wackers ,leaf blowers and augers that ethanol has kept from starting.
I’ve been running ion. Last check 12” of ice.so in colder altitudes it’s time for the jiffy legend 30(10”)Ion 8” cuts 7 1/2” holes which close up quickly.

Non ethanol is extremely hard to find in Mass.  I get it in NY whenever I can.

I don't get out enough to use anything other than ethanol free in my auger (all my small engines, really) IMO it's worth the money. I used to have to rebuild/clean carbs every year or every other year. No more.

Mattheairy is spot on! Ethanol free is "worth the money".   If you decide to take a chance with ethanol fuel... add some MIB (Mechanic in Bottle) ... to stabilize and prevent ethanol glue.   Consider Trufuel  and or MIB an "ounce of prevention".

Start fast, run smooth worry less.

I used truefuel all the time in my tanaka.  It worked great and it was easy enough to bring an extra can.

Iowaccord ... another good point..."easy enough to bring an extra can."  The can is like having a MRE for a hungry 2 cycle.  Packs light, doesn't take up much space, last forever and keeps you FUELED up.

I swear my strikemaster honda runs on air. I've on the same trufuel can for going on 3 years and there is still half a can left and drilled well over 1500 holes
