How much snow is on Mille lacs
« on: Jan 07, 2019, 03:18 PM »
Heading to the great north next weekend and was wondering how much snow is on the ice and how the bite has been?  This will be my first time on the lake so any tips or spots to watch out for would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks Chad

I take it you will be fishing walleyes? And bringing own equipment?

Best tip I an give is to always stop at the resort you are going out of and talk to the staff. Most will have a map showing roads and pointing out problem areas. I know many are still just allowing ATV's and sleds, however some are allowing trucks. Might not be a bad idea to call ahead just to get an idea of what you are getting into.

Good luck and post a few pictures when you get back.

Yes we will be targeting walleyes, and have all of are own equipment. We have summer cabins about another hour north, so have spent many summers up there just never make it up during the winter months.  So may also chase some crappies on the smaller lakes as well.
