Front Range 3-Species Day (12.28.18)
« on: Dec 28, 2018, 04:31 PM »
My brother and I scouted out a few front range ponds, and were surprised to only find around 2" of ice at most, even with the recent cold snap...sketchy.  Eventually found 3-4" of good hard ice, and met up with Fishslap.  My bro and I landed three species, a bass, tons of trout, and a small eye.  Shaun got into a few eyes, including a nice 15" one, and plenty of trout, too.  Left around 1:30pm.  FINALLY!  Some front range ice to fish.  Nothing big, but at least we didn’t hafta drive 2-3 hours for ice.  Get out, spud, and get some!

Flags up, gentlemen!!!

Yeah, us too.  We used the spud bar to check places, and anything less than 3”, we moved on to the next pond or lake.

It was nice to fish with you Fishslap.  Good job with the multi-species day today.  I was the guy fishing near you guys all day with that annoying gopro sound. :p

Sorry I didn’t really get to chat with you.  I was over with my bro.  It was a fun day, for sure.  It’ll only get better with more front range options.

Oh man no worries. It was a blast to see a small group of people having a successful day out there. I sure wasted my time walking way west by the rocks haha.
