Back from college, Ice got me sad

Worked my A@# off in school this semester; only was looking forward to ice fishing once I came home. Well now I am here and ice is not...

Any safe Ice locations would be awesome; was also thinking about road tripping to Maine/NH if anyone knows good lakes out there.

One of the best ice  years ever!  You have to look around to find safe ice ,but its there.
It will be a while before big lakes are safe.  NH has tons of safe ice if you are cautious and check as you go.  Check the NH site and you will find lots of new fish pictures and you can ask about good locations.

It sounds like there's still fishable ice on Dillenbeck and Carry.  Be careful, though!   Don't take my word for it.
There's ice to the north and east, too.

Ice north of the 78 bridge in swanton was good 7 inches. there are some spots out where it was a little thinner (5 inches), but clear black ice. Pike were biting good we landed 20 in 7 hours between 2 of us.
