Any recent skagway ice reports
« on: Dec 04, 2018, 04:53 PM »
Anyone been to skagway since this cold snap past few days and know ice conditions? Dow said last week it was 2-3" on edges and open in middle.  I find that hard to believe with 7" on antero and tend to not trust anything they say anyways.  Yet I call lol.  Thanks all! Good luck this winter

I was talking to a guy up at A'hole last week and Skaguay came up in a discussion of where was a good place to take kids and newbies to show them sort of what it's like to catch fish. His report, though also second hand, was that it's still unfishable. It usually freezes about the same time as Tarryall but apparently not this year. Probably the best source for the skinny will be Chris at Colorado Tackle Pro 719-634-6939.  He seems to know these things.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.
