A very good friend and member here, Rutt Nutt was hiking in Benezette, PA on Thursday when he stepped over a small stream to get some water. The rattle snake bit without warning. He was alone, no cell service and 2.3 miles in. He told me the last half mile was tough and that if he was in 3.3 miles he doesn't think he would have made it out. He's in quite a bit of pain still and he'll be in the hospital for a while and the recovery will take a another month at least. Say a prayer for him please.

it seems it ain't over yet. the venom tends to "hide" in tissue and every time he gets up to walk around a bit of it breaks loose and does more damage. They are starting another round of AV on him.

Prayers out for you Rutt Nutt

It make me more thank full that the only rattle snake we have is the Massasauga. (sp) They are not that potent. I have only seen one in my life. It scared me enough that I jumped a 6 foot stream in a single bound. I do not know why I was worried as I had hip boots on.

He's home. I stopped by yesterday to see how he's doing. His leg wasn't pretty to begin with, now it's downright scary! LOL! He's gonna be out of the game for a while but he's still playing. He said he has checked out the thread but can't post on it cuz he doesn't have his password. He said he appreciated your prayers and good thoughts.
