Ice update, Willand pond
« on: Feb 24, 2018, 01:21 PM »
Went over to willand pond in Somersworth today and I will have to say the ice there is fading fast. Less than a foot of very soft grainy ice and the edges are quite melted. Much more warm weather and that ice will go..I would imagine most places in south eastern NH are about the same, USE CAUTION

Did you get a chance to fish it, I've been thinking about trying it. I guess I better do it real soon then...

It was my second time fishing it, first time didnt do to well, fished deep water and caught some small largemouth and a few perch, today caught 1 dink slime dart and a good sized perch, did see one 14" rainbow caught, I would not go back and fish there again..In my opinion there will be no fishable ice there by next saturday looking at this weeks weather.

Lot of terrible ice/ even open water in the Nashua area. Whatever is left is going fast
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

That didn't take long. When I fished it a few weekends ago it had over 12". Got a few decent bows outta there too.
