New Moon kinda Day

Today I set off before work ( I work 2nd Shift) with hopes to tassle with couple Snot Rockets today. I get on the ice around 8am with a dozen shiners and a half scoop of perch bait. I headed out to one of the OG spots where I learned to ice fish 17yrs ago. I've left the spot alone for a few years , mainly to search and learn new things. I was solo,  so I punched a few holes and managed to get 7 tip-ups out in a 70yrd spread. I don't like taking up acreage if I know where I want to be, plus, I wanted to jig and didn't want to run across the Lake all day.  I was on the 3rd tip up when I get my first flag. Ok this is cool. It was a little guy. The 5th tip up is set and I get another flag. Ok, so it's gonna be one of those days. This one was a hog , in the 38in range. My day was made and I didn't care if I caught another fish. 15 fish later I was baiting my homemade quick strike rigs with double emerald shiners and down to 3 tipups at 1pm. At 1pm I had double flags on the last 3 tip-ups out and landed both fish,  each were  9-10lb fish. At that point, I was hating the idea of going to work and contemplated a sick day and calling the wife to bring me more bait and a sandwich because I was in for the long haul. My phone died and the last two didn't get a cameo for today but were safely release, as were all of the beautiful specimens I caught today. I bit the bullet and hastily went to work, but I will not complain about today. All fish were C/R.

Sounds like you had your hands full there a couple of times, but that makes it fun. Awesome day for sure.

Yessir..it started out sunny then started raining. I landed 5 in that size range between 8am-1pm. I can't remember the last time I had a day like that.
