Looking to find some crappie near me!
« on: Feb 03, 2018, 10:26 AM »
So I've been using the flasher a lot more and I'm thinking that I wouldn't mind trying to find some crappie near me since I havn't been able to.  I've been thinking about trying parker pond in casco, upper range, and or sabbathday. I know that they are in there just wondering what people thought would be my best bet to try and target my first one through the ice. They are the closest to me that is why I chose those ponds in specific. Thanks for the help.

Parker pond is loaded with them. also pleasant lake that parker runs into. I catch a lot in open water but have never been able to find them in winter,

Thankyou woodchip I figured if anybody knew it would be you. I've fished there a couple of times but I'll try some different spots and maybe by the island.

It’s been my experience that they will hold in the deepest section of the waterbody. Especially mid winter.  That being said, I have caught them in shallow weeds, but the vast majority I find are deep.
So, try to find the deepest area, drill some holes and drop your ducer.
Good luck
