WHITES ARE IN!!!!
« on: Jan 25, 2018, 01:01 PM »
The water! Somewhere! In the big lake!

Any reports on the whites running yet? I am hitting the big lake Sunday and would like to target whites but will settle for yellows if they aren't around the bays yet? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Tight lines!

i would try the just north or south of the CP bridge in the channel. stay a few hundred yds from the bridge.

Is that because of the ice conditions. I will be on a wheeler due to not being able to walk around much yet?

a foot in most places but......the current near the bridge, the warmth from the pillars, salt etc make the ice there unpredictable. have been some reports that the ice is thin near the bouys too.

Theres inconsistancies due to the current. I would say safe by foot. Wheeler is safe in most spots but it only takes one thin area like I encountered by the bouy north of the bridge.  I would find a route and drill it out. Then only take your wheeler on that path.   Don't think your chris columbus out there on it and you should be fine

I have seen the ones caught at Georgia shore. The guys catching them weren't commercial fisherman, so they kept them. If you didn't have a Vex, they were almost impossible to find since they were going up and down in the water column. This was two weeks ago though.
