Drill augers instead of gas augers

I was wondering what is better like I know that I can get more holes with a gas auger but it always smells but on the other hand will a drill cut threw the ice faster and if so what kind of drill.

I own a jiffy 10 inchgas auger and love it for big thick ice days. I also own a kdrill and have both rec dewalt and Milwaukee drills. Electric is awesome in my mind. Like you said no smells and way more portable. im usually a run and gun fisherman and also solo most times so being light with the electric is a huge plus for me. I pack an extra battery just in case my drill dies but cant say anything bad about either. Both have a purpose and a time to be used. hope this helps

When my gas auger dies I'm converting to propane or electric.  I've got friends with both and the cleanliness alone is enough of a reason.
