One cold smallie

Stayed in town Saturday to test some front range water. Good thing it was brutally cold since the ice topped out at 3.5"

Iced a bunch of bait sized perch when a big mark showed up. Caught me off guard and became a good challenge to land it on the ol fiberglass rod spooly. Fought like a little tank; slow and stayed down a while.

Great smallmouth.  Big tail on that guy. One good fish is all you need some days.

Ha, these aren't the ponds you're looking for... 

The're not really "our" lmb ponds, they're public!  Plenty of public ponds to explore.

I'd be down to meet up sometime soon, but this afternoon won't work for me.

I'm sitting behind a desk for the rest of the week.  And after three straight days of fishing last weekend, the wife says I only get one day this coming weekend...must...choos e...wisely.

I went to the same water, different spot at dusk. Fished 4-5:30 and caught a bunch of perch, a 12" slime rocket, and one gill (6"). No bass this go round.
