Ice and wind

Can anyone give me an answer to this ??
I know wind isn't good for ice but if it's bitter old in the teens an singles but windy will the ice still built on an already frozen lake?

If the lake is locked up the ice will build whenever the temp is below freezing, regardless of wind and not accounting for direct sun. If there is an open area and the wind blows hard enough relative to the ice thickness it can open the lake up, that's the biggest damage done by wind. Wind is your friend after it snows, blowing the snow off the lake so the cold air is in direct contact with the ice, cooling it and making more ice.
