Lost ice fishing buddy
« on: Dec 26, 2017, 06:49 AM »
Just found out my friend from here Tom shields (Tipsy Mitzi) passed away last year. The last time we fished in Chaumont we beat the perch up real bad for 2 days, A couple days after that we fished Oneida and he iced his first walleye at the very end of the day. He also got A monster burbot, he thought he had A 10 pound walleye on his line. Less than a week after that he came down with some form of meningitis, and was hospitalized for 2 months. While he was in the hospital in A coma his wife passed away, and he never fully recovered from his bout with the meningitis. The drugs they used to save him almost destroyed his liver, and there wasn't A whole lot they could do I assume. I suppose he may have passed from this ordeal or the effects of it  last year, he will be sorely missed. Even if he caught A dink perch he had A grin ear to ear from it, really good stuff. Tom and his wife were good people to me, wish I could fish one more time with him for sure.

That's a tough one. Sorry for your loss. At least you'll always have the great memories. That's really what it's all about.

As a pastor I often remind people to focus on the years of friendship and to be thankful for the friendship.  Lost will happen to all of us but the good memories are the most important.  Would you be willing to share a good or funny story about ice fishing.   I live 50 min west of Albany if you need a temporary   buddy.

If I can assist you or anyone else please feel free to drop me a line.  God bless and my prayers are with you.

Sorry for your loss of your fishing buddy. I know how you feel because I lost three this summer. My prayers go out to you and you and your friend's family.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Sorry to hear this. None of us ever wanna lose an ice fishing partner. Thoughts are with you this season.
“Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a shanty, jig and drink beer all day. ”
