Trout Mount
« on: Dec 20, 2017, 10:39 AM »
Looking for a taxidermist to mount my fish. It is a 24" Splake. The story behind the catch is more amazing than the fish itself, but it does have some beautiful red color to it. I'm trying to find someone with a lot of experience mounting and painting trout. I got one recommendation to contact Adirondack wildlife studio up in Caroga Lake, but the phone number I found has been disconnected, and I have gotten no response from the email I sent a few days ago.

Who out there has a good reputation for mounting Trout? Anywhere from Syracuse to Albany to Saranac lake and beyond, I just want it to be done right.

Jeff tenyke at Hunt Nature's Way taxidermy in Troy NY did my deer and he did an amazing job. He had a bunch of fish mounts in his studio and they all were high quality.  I would certainly go there for any fish I wanted done.

Does he do pike replica mounts? Do you have a picture of your pike mount? I’m looking to get a replica mount of my fall 22lb Adirondack pike.

Another vote for Carl Brainard in Warrensburg. He is doing my daughters salmon and has done a few fish for my family and a few friends. He does great work especially on trout
