Garmin 4cv ice kit
« on: Nov 26, 2017, 08:47 PM »
I picked up a garmin striker 4cv fish finder this summer to mount on my boat.  I recently discovered that I can buy a portable kit and an ice transducer to go with it.  My question is it worth it to buy the extras? I have a hb ice55 but was thinking it could be a spare or extra for a buddy or my wife. By the time I buy the portable kit and the ice transducer I will be into it for what I could buy a lower line flasher for but I like the idea of having a finder for my boat that can be used for other applications.

Thanks

Casey

I like mine just fine and a guy I fish with liked it enough he went out and bought one.  If you are just going to use it as a backup save the $75 bucks and build something to mount it to and get the transducer.  There's a couple videos of it in use on my Youtube.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTiepvwkBP0&t=1s
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.
