1 5/8 inches of ice overnight!
« on: Feb 19, 2006, 10:37 AM »
The biggest pond on the property that did not freeze over until just after dark last night now has 1 5/8 inches of ice. I'll be out there today fishing on the pier from my fish trap guide. Gotta go. Got to go pick up some minnows.
I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

Yeah, I'm stunned too! I just walked on my pond!  I have 1 1/4" of ice.

All the bays and channels up here in Steuben county froze last night.  North Snow Bay is froze over.  Some of the ice is better then other spots because we didnt loose all of it after the last warm spell.  Be careful out there if you go.  I dont know about Sprauges.  I bet it is froze to.  Clear Lake is froze on the west Bay.  I am going to say maybe Tuesday.  Depends how cold it gets tonight and tommarow night.
