Seems it's time to hang it up for the season as everyone here is going crazy. Sites gone big time downhill, it's become such a toxic community. Heading over to my fish finder for the summer, hopefully the trolls stay here.

I might get out one or 2 more times but I am willing to travel over an hour to do it. 300 miles in a weekend is not a big deal. :tipup:

Fat ladies still muffled. ..its all about how. Bad you want it...I drive 175 miles each way every weekend. ..and will continue to do so  for at least 2 weeks...it's all about personal preferance...next week's cold snap will make the conditions up north prime for late season fishing. ..best part
..no competition...it'll be the only open diner in town...tight lines to those that have moved on...this old farts not ready to pack my ice gear away just yet..

That's classic, make a judgment after 1 or 2 days of being a member. Maybe you lurked for years, maybe not. You really shouldn't judge until you've been around contributing for more than a day. There are guys on here that spend countless hours sharing, posting, helping, bringing others out and showing them the ropes. The only thing in your comment that is somewhat correct, and you would have to participate to know, Allot of the regulars from years past are no longer posting and it isn't like it used to be. In the words of the great Bob Dylan "The times they are changing " .

All it means is there will be one less panty-waist whiner on the ice, complaining about how he can't catch fish with all the fancy gear he bought, leaving all the late winter glory to those that truly put in the time and energy to make the journey!

If I don't make a trip up north this weekend for some ice, I have a couple of open water options available here in MA, so regardless of the date or weather, I will be out fishing!

Yeah on myfishfinder my name was Westernmasshole and that didn't fly.  I'm sure they will change it on him soon.  They truncated mine to westernmas and although I wasn't I happy I understood.

I've been watching that harbor temp as well Dick. Still want to get on ice this weekend and maybe next. But I'll be ready for flatties anytime they're ready to bite. Just ate my last bag from last season.

Ice fishing was good, but I've got open water in Westfield and I love canoe and kayak fishing.  Looks like crappy weather for it this weekend, but the gear is almost ready.  Next weekend is the goal.

I put away my ice stuff(clean/oiled/polish)...caught 3 nice rainbows from shore on power eggs..two males and a big fat female w/eggs biggest 17" :o...that West wind was a killer...   had the rods laying down on there sideson a 6" rod holder..lol,,,my last post... :( catch you guys in Dec. :)
