Can't wait will be my first time for this derby. Best of luck to everyone
Really enjoy this derby, this will be my 12th year looking forward to be there great bunch of guys
I spoke with Dave from the tupper lake gun club. He said you can use all 7 lines in the water as stated in the dec rule book. He also stated that in the rule book an angler is only aloud 15 hook points total. So if you use treble hooks each one has 3 hook points so you would only be able to use 5 tip ups. I was not aware of this rule until he made me aware of it. Can't wait to get up to tupper lake this year!!
Thank you for the clarification. This was copied right off of the dec websiteGlad we can all be on same page Dec tries to play on words. but we can each help at some point with each other "each line is limited to not more than five lures or baits or a combination of both.in addition, each line shall not exceed 15 hook points in any combination of single, double or treble hooks."
I can't wait for Saturday! This will be our first year attending. I was told that only 5 tip ups are allowed per angler. The rod and gun website states all DEC rules apply so can 7 legally be used? Really looking forward to this derby and hoping to make it a yearly event. Good luck to all !
That 15 hook points is per line
Now need to get 5 treble hooks on each and 4 more minnows.
That just sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen, LoL
We will allow 7 lines this year due to D.E.C.'s change last year. No fishing in shelters though. (Hopefully to cut down on cheating)mike
I know new rule for this year is 7 lines but last year they didn't do tags for tip ups. Are they going back to tags this tear?
