Had our last Derby meeting last night and the Derby is a go. Plenty of ice on Cheshire, Second lake around 11", and good ice on First lake accept for the south end by the causeway (Farnums Rd.). Once again people shouldn't travel south of the big island because of the open water and thin ice beyond that.
The Derby is at Cheshire Lake in Cheshire Saturday February 18th. Prizes are for each, 1st- Pike/Bass $500, 2nd- Pike/Bass $200, 3rd- Pike/Bass $100. Tickets are $20 and include entrance in to a drawing for a 10" power auger, tickets for Chinese raffle prizes (a lot of good stuff), and dinner at the Saints Hall just down the road in Adams. We will also be raffling off a set of Jack Traps and having a 50/50 drawing. We only sell 500 tickets, 240 of which have already been sold, and we've sold out every year. You can get tickets at Dave's Sporting Goods in Pittsfield, Rascals lounge in Adams, Saints Hall in Adams, Cheshire liqour Center (formerly Nejaimes) in Cheshire, or call Ray at (413) 212-2270. Proceeds go to benefit the Josh Snyder Memorial Scholarship Fund, and other local and national charities.
