Depends where I'm fishing and what I'm fishing for. Usually 10, 12, or 15 mono for bass. I may do 15, or 20 lb mono for Pike. I probably should go more for Pike but I like the challenge

I'm not much of a pike fisherman, but for walleye I use a 6lb fluorocarbon leader. I'm not sure what my main line is, it's not real heavy though. It also depends on what kind of trout. Rainbows and browns, I use the same. Lakers I might go a little higher, but not much. That being said, it's my preference, where others may have a different opinion.

I use 30# tip up line with 6ft of 6# fluorocarbon leader for walleye and then I change the the 6# fluoro leader to 4# for trout and bass.

Basic running line is 30# Dacron (Black).... then change leader depending on what fish we're after.

Steel or 20lb flourocarbon leaders for pike depending on the water.
I have a mess of tipups with 6lb flouro and #12 trebles that I use for walleye, lake trout, perch, and crappie.
I've recently experienced some dumb luck with walleye hitting steel rigs with a blade and few beads. I'm not much of a walleye fisherman, but it's working. So I'm sticking with it.  ;D

I think  30  pound  Dacron  with a  3 foot  mono  leader  then  a  light  invisa leader  which is a  thin  steel  leader .... I  have  caught  just as many bike  with a  12 inch  heavy  steel  leader  tied  directly to the  Dacron  so I  think  i'm   just  doing it   to make  myself feel better

I like using white/tan tipup line instead of black. I haven't noticed any less or more flags, but it helps me see which way the fish has ran

As many have said depends what I'm after, 6lb for typical smaller ponds for panfish, bass, pickerel, small trout 8-10lb for walleye and lakers, 20-30lb for pike and 50lb for muskie. I keep swivels and quick snaps on all the leaders and tip up line for easy changing

Its legal to ice fish for muskies in the Allegheny Reservoir on the Seneca Nation in Western NY (or anywhere else on the Seneca Nation that has muskie), their muskie season is the same as pike and walleye. I think its legal to ice fish for them in PA as well, but I could be wrong on that.

In terms of pound test line, I use whatever pound test tip-up line is on sale at the end of the season lol. Tip-up line is all the same to me, I just use different leaders for different species or situations. Some of my tip-ups have 60lb line, some have 15lb test line, I use them on the same day targeting the same thing and don't see much of a difference in performance.

only  the   Allegany Reservation  land   and  you  need  a  Seneca nation fishing license  and  not  all of  Allegany Reservoir the  Cattaraugus county  part  ny  state  regulations  apply   ,,,,remember  (my understanding)  a  state  record  fish  is  disqualified  if  it  is  caught on  Seneca  land ....

PA I  don't  know  about  this  is   new  York

The only place that I know that you can catch muskies through the ice is Greenwood lake, 36" minimum length.
