Ice check road trip
« on: Jan 06, 2017, 04:48 PM »
Went on a recon mission today.  7" whitish ice at Lake Ellis but surface firm edges good.  9 inches at Tully Lake, Top 3 or four inches white ice over 4 to 5 black ice.  Edges good except for small wet area near small parking lot. 7 inches at Rohunta, 3 white over 4 black, edges good.   Other small ponds in area that I drove by appeared to be locked tight.  I think we are probably good to go for the season if we don't get an extended warm up

Thank you ...nice summary ... I will be on one on of those pond early Saturday.  With the storm moving in I am anticipating it will be a crappie morning!

thanks for the report - I did the same this afternoon - if you're inside of 128, go west or north or both.
Trust me, when the Zamboni driver says "You won't catch fish through that hole", he knows of what he speaks.

All I got were bluegills and a pumpkinseed  on Rohunta last Saturday.
