St.Croix rod with too short of handle
« on: Dec 24, 2016, 09:28 AM »
Ok guys, I primarily fish with St. Croix legend Silver rods.  I have found that fishing with mittens the handle is too short.  I like that I rarely roll or miss fish with this rod, but hate that the handle is as short as it is.  I might end up buying a couple of the gold rods.  They seem to have a slightly longer handle. I would really like to find an easy way to add length to the handle so I could get a good grip, and have my mitten stay out of the way of the reel. Any suggestions on adding more length to the handle?

If you like your St Croix silvers check out the new Mojo Ice rods a little longer handle split grip. They have been one of the hottest rods for us this year.

You can attach a fly rod fighting butt on the rear cork and lengthen handle. Some are threaded so you can put small weighted washers on to balance rod and reel. Jann's Netcraft has many versions. Just have to expoy them on.They also make one that slide on. Tightlines
10% of the fisherman catch 90% of the fish .....im a 10% are you?
