What Else Needed for Cordless Drill
« on: Dec 24, 2016, 08:47 AM »
Hi All, think about making the switch to auger/cordless drill set up. But I do have a few questions. I have a Nils 6" manual auger already with the cone shaped head. Can this be used with a cordless drill. If yes what else would I need to buy other than the drill? If I decide to buy either a K-Drill or Nils cordless auger again what else would I need? The next question is a post by it's self. What are the advantages/disadvantages of the cordless system vs an electric battery power augher?

Many thanks and Happy Holidays - Ice

For your Nils, you need an adapter you can buy on ebay. Nils or Kdrill don't need an adapter if you're going straight to the drill. If you're going the Clam plate mount then you would also need an adapter.

The main advantage is some people already have a good drill they can use year round. If you go with the ion or strikemaster electric you can only use during the ice season. However you can usually get more holes out of the dedicated electric ice augers.
