I may not get as much snow as you do, But I check my tip-ups regularly and can follow my foot steps to my tip-ups.  If you don't think that is possible, try some driveway markers.

I've used 3/8" or 1/4" wood dowels. You can get them at ace hardware pretty cheap. I think they come in 3 foot lengths if not you can cut them to whatever length you think is good. Then get some reflective tape from Murdoch's or wherever and wrap one end with the tape. They've worked great for me and they are light and easy to pack along. When you are drilling your holes and setting your tip ups just cone up some ice and stab the dowel in. Once they freeze in your good to go and they are easy to remove when your leaving. That's just what I do. It might give you some ideas.

FNA cotton those would be perfect never even thought of those. We do mark ours with GPS. But sucks in the dark looking at your screen on the GPS and trying 2 navigate the wheeler. Even 2 just have those around your spread and shack for when your nite fishing. Thanks for the great idea.

I use 5/16 fiberglass electric fence posts, put reflective tape on top.
Also work great for marking your route for nite fishing.

Guy I knew would glue a Ruler to his tip up, paint 50% of it orange and the top 50% with some glow paint.  It worked out good.

I use 1" PVC pipe with reflective tape wrapped around one end.  Cut them about 18" or 24".  Use the  white reflective tape if you can, the red or orange tape can be mistaken for a flag.  Pile up ice shavings and stick it in.  This is also a good marker for snowmobiles.

I went to Ace Hardware to get the stuff to make my own (dowels, reflective tape, paint, etc.) and found the fiberglass driveway markers.  I'm money ahead, and they work great.  They light up in the four wheeler headlights like a beacon.

We just buy a stick of 1.5" PVC and cut it in 1.5' lengths and wrap reflective tape on the end they are lightweight and work really good. Size doesn't matter, regardless of what She says!
