Allagash traps
« on: Dec 05, 2016, 09:03 AM »
Does anybody know any outfitters that still sell Allagash traps and/or parts for them? KTP no longer carries them.  I tried google, amazon, and ebay but didn't have any luck other than Neilson's Sporting Goods which is 1.5 hours from me.

I've been using these traps for 20+ years now and they're begining to show there age but I'm not ready to give up on them yet. 1 needs a new reel and 2 others could use new trip rods. The other 4 I have work flawlessly.

I believe you can use jack trap parts. I've had my alagash traps about 15 years, i looked into getting more but couldnt find any. The Jacks look like they use all the same stuff, or similar.

A few years back I purchased an Allagash tipup from Sportsmans BARR (bows archery rods reels) located in Gardener,ME. I have know idea if this business still exists might be worth a Google search.

On-Ice sorry I can not be of further help the person who owned Sportsmans BARR was an Ice Shanty member. I do not remember his website name. Have you done a search on the tipup to see if the company that makes them is still in business?

Johnson's sporting goods in Portland had them a few years ago . It would be worth giving them a call .

Johnson's no longer sells them either  :(

I was able to fix problems with the reels wabbling simply by replacing the 1/4''x3" bolt.

I have 1 Jack trap that I'm going to use to test if the reel fits tonight. I'll let ya'll know if it works or not!
