Cisco Specialist in just 2 hours

Well, Mother Nature finally gave me a break and rewarded me with 2 days of nice weather. First trip was a long 23 hour day for me, as 4 of us drove to the Duck Mountain area to target Tiger Trout. Two of us were first timers fishing for those. Spent close to 9 hours on the ice and I got skunked while my companions all caught at least one. The highlight of the day was my friend Mike landing a huge Master Angler 25 1/4 inch Tiger Trout after a lengthy drag peeling fight.

On the second outing, we travelled to the other side of the Province to target Ciscos (Tulibees), something new to me. Brady's had the first drop of the morning and was rewarded with a MA Tulibee. The action was aggressive and almost non-stop for 2 hours. By that time I had landed 5 MA Tulibees in a row to attain my Tulibee Specialist badge 

We landed some bonus Northern Pike and a few huge Perch. When the winds picked up later in the day, the bite shut down and only 1 more MA Tulibee was landed. It was a very long walk out on the ice but the rewards sure made the effort worthile for our group of three.

Nice going blue, those are dandy big ciscos / tullibee. 
Congrats on getting your MA badge with them.

If you like to fish for big pike and burbot they make great bait.

Thanks WW! All the fish were released. I do have some Goldeye and Sardines for my next tip-up Pike trip.

Great report and photos blue (as usual), and congrats on your specialist catch!

Thinking about the fight that even very small tiger trout provide, I can't imagine the fun Mikey had landing that huge one through the ice!

Hehe....thanks but that would be impossible although it did take him 2 years versus my 2 hours

Yes they do but as my Grandson would say when he was 7 years old......."they do the Tulibee dance when flopping on the ice"

crazy big tullibee... we tried for them at cedar lake a couple of weekends ago, but they weren't cooperating... all marking and no biting !!! any specialist in one day is amazing !!!
