Sauger.  It does not have white tips on it's fins.

Roger Sizemore of Orient, Ohio caught a new state record saugeye weighing 14.04 pounds from Antrim Lake in Franklin County on November 24th.

This is not a vote on my part.  I have learned enough about walleye, sauger, saugeye to know that specific visual characteristics cannot actually determine which one they are.

Based on the pattern and coloring I'd say it is a Zander as well. Was it caught in Britain?

A zander?. Well if it is, you tripped me up, but that's not hard 'cause I'm kind of clumsy.   I should have guessed it would not be so straight forward.    Looks like a walleye to me.  Anyhow it is a great fish.  Thanks for sharing with us.

The older I get, the more I know that I don't know.  What I do know is that a few comments here and there are getting real annoying and leave a bitter taste.  It should not be this way guys and gals.

It is not because you are 19.  It, IMHO it is because when one shoves attitude down others throats and portends great knowledge and experience where there is some knowledge and some experience, it causes others to "call" one on it.  Reactions of defensiveness by lashing out only "throws kerosene on the fire".  It is easy to be missunderstood when IMing and writing on a forum because words and ideas might not be expressed clearly or fully and there are no visual clues for the reader/listener to pick up on (facial expressions and such).

IMHO, the bullcrap as you put it, was simply served back after getting warmed up to serving temperature.

A simply apology and perhaps an explanation of what you actually meant to say or to clarify what was said will go much further and be more appreciated than the methods used so far.

Oh yeah, come on, is it a zander, walleye, sauger (do they have those in Sweden) or saugeye or mutant perch?

Sorry for the late reply from my buddy in Sweden. Here is a quote so far which still leaves me wondering, but I'm trying to pin him down. I have no idea what it is but he would know.

Quote from Ove:
The name of the fish Peter caught is a Walleye In Europe we have, Zander(German
name), Pike-Perch(UK name)the same fish but different names....

I'm confused as first he called it a pike-perch in his e-mail to me ;D

I did a little checking and according the the information I found Sweden does not have walleye or sauger only zander.

To confuse it even further, an accepted name for the walleye is the "wall-eyed pike perch".  I think it's a zander, there's also no dark spot on the base of the last few dorsal fin membranes.
