How's things after the rain??
« on: Feb 17, 2016, 07:31 PM »
Pleasantly surprised to see a few guys out on Forge Pond in Granby this afternoon less than 24 hours after low 50's temp and a bunch  of rain..  The snow was turned in to white ice which appeared to be solid and dry.  Just a little water showing at the access.  They may have had to plank out but the ice looked pretty good.  How does the ice look in the Berks and Central MA??

Its holding up where there was ice before the rain. Definitely lost a little but not too much. Various thickness from 5"-8"

Looked at about 5 inches on Webster Lake today, but the top inch or two was JUNK!

No problem around my area. Should be good till late weekend or early next week than will be getting iffy  especially if you don't  know the pond.

I got to try my D3000 shanty on Long Pond in Marstons Mills last weekend when there was a solid 4" but the warm weather has me thinking a road trip north
