Fastach clip
« on: Feb 06, 2016, 08:18 PM »
Not sure if this pic will show.

I saw this on this site as part of a regular poster's signature. Wondered what they were. Coincidentally I was looking at a Youtube video and saw them being demonstrated.

http://www.stringease.com/products.php?cat=snaps&id=fastach_clips.

I'm going to try to find some. Anyone else use them regularly?

thx

I use a size 0/15# (I think) made by Stringease. They make a model that has a barrel swivel on one end, the fastach on the other. I'll put a split ring on a Swedish pimple (for example), and the fastach makes it easy to change lures out to different colors/sizes.

Got them on quite a few of my lures.  I buy mine from Lure Parts Online: http://lurepartsonline.com/Shop-By-Category/Snaps-Clips/Fastach-Clips.html

Ha---you're the guy!! I really wondered what that was when I saw it!

In one or 2 of  the videos it shows Gord Pyzer using them between the lure and the hook. Anyone else do that? Apparently the orig intent was to be able to change lures quickly.

It is good to use in between the hook and lure. That way you can take off the treble and slide a piece of bait or Minnow head over the shank to the hook. Then re-attach it. Makes it very hard to get the bait off.

It's all I use now......ordered mine directly from the Canadian Distributor as no retail store carried them here in Manitoba. They are a Godsend for making quick change ups without having to spend time freezing fingers or dealing with twisty lines.

I ordered my lifetime supply directly from the inventor the second year they came out. They were featured at ICAST in Vegas and I found out about them from Gord Pyzer. I just found the inventor's email address on my old hard drive so I'm not sure if it's still active  ???

Stringease should get back to you also......it just takes time.
Good Luck  :)

I ordered some from Rollie & Helens muskyshop.com

They had both the Stringease ones and ones made by Mustad... Looked identical to me.  7 in the Stringease pack, 12 in the Mustad pack. prices were the same.

 ??? ??? ??? ???
