Best places to park?
« on: Jan 21, 2016, 04:43 PM »
So, without getting into specifics for any one lake, where are good places to park?

The only thing that's coming to my mind are the various boat launches which seem to have plenty of parking this time of year. Anyone know of other places which work?

As long as your wife doesn't tell you where we like to park, everything will be fine  ;D Sorry, had to do it, no harm meant lol

More importantly, from a bad experience I had last year, make sure your 4x4 is in working order.  We take my buddies little car out when the weather is nice, but I got stuck at a boat launch in 2x4 last year.  My 4x4 wouldn't engage and I barely made it out of the driveway.  I found my differential carrier broke in half a week later.

Park anywhere that you won't get towed or a ticket, where you won't get stuck or snowed in.  If I would have parked behind a church rather than at the boat launch, I would have saved a headache and wouldn't have a Eaton Detroit Truetrac in the back of my truck right now (it's fun to drive now).
