I'll try it Friday eve/night for sure, as long as the stars all align haha!  I'll hit that Gull point area and park at that spot/ramp close to it if so.   I have a Blue Clam 6800 that I'll be in if I can make it!    Does anyone know what ice is like in that spot specifically?  May bring my quad also, if feasible!

First time I ever went there on the ice I caught a limit in like two hours and the C.O. checked everyone and said that was uncommon, but I don't think it is!   They were hitting exceptional that eve and night even drilling the jigging raps with no bait on them before you could jig it once.  Lots of small ones but left with 6 perfect eaters!    Haven't fished it for a few, so not sure on the limits at all right now, but I'd say there are plenty of nice 14 to 20 inch walleye in there right now for sure!  Damn...now I'm pumped...makes me want to go immediately!

Nice catch.  I haven't fished Bass lake for several years.  Would love to get back there if the ice sticks around.

Yes, it was like 3 years ago for sure so maybe they haven't stocked it much lately,  but that info is available if we look.  Thanks and good luck to any who go!

Maybe the super deep freezes we had last two years screwed em up, or they just havent stocked em.  We used to go there when I was a kid and catch a bunch of eyes on open water, but they were stocking them regularly every year then, not so sure about last few years.  Maybe I'll stick to fishing the bluegills out of Summit like everyone else lol haha....probably what happened to the eyes in Bass!

I am quite sure that they are still stocking them yearly. I was told by the DNR over a million fry annually. I would opt for a few larger fish 8-10 inches twice a year spring and fall like they do at Maxi.

I read somewhere that 3% of walleye fry stocked survive to fingerling size and that 3% of fingerling size make it to adulthood. If true, for every 1,300,000 fish stocked, 1,170 make it to harvest size or beyond. I'm sure that this is dependent on the body of water, forage and predator/prey relationship but a general idea.

And this takes what about 4 years to harvest??

I was in that area of the lake on tuesday. Several others were out as well.  Ice was almost four inches.  Should be much thicker now.  Had one bites. Didn't hear about anyone else doing well either

I believe they stock fry in the spring and the 7" fingerings in the fall. I cannot remember how many fry but it is a lot.

I could be wrong but I thought I was told they only stock fry in Bass. They stock all fingerlings in Maxi. Spring and Fall. Larger ones in fall. They need to stock some of them fingerlings in Bass IMHO.
