I bought an old Jiffy at a garage sale last season and could not get it to cut ice no matter how sharp I had the blade. The auger doesn't have the bolt on blades but is all one piece. It shook the snot out me and took forever to punch a hole, I thought I had to put up with it (or spend more than 50 bucks for a power auger!). I met an "old timer" on the ice who told me to gently heat the blade area of the auger and bend the blade with some vice grips so the blade would cut in deeper to the ice. It worked like a charm and I can now cut holes as fast as I need without suffering from motion sickness. Hope this helps someone.
