Thanks.  Nothing huge but it was great to go for a little hike and catch some fish.  The 2015-16 season is here.

What is that fish in the first photo?  That is one gorgeous fish.  They're both great looking fish, but that first one is stunning.

Never caught a Tiger trout in my life. I believe they're a sterile hybrid of a brookie and a brown. Don't believe it's listed in the State record book. Did you tether a goat? Nothing but admiration for the young legs and lungs of guys like you and Nate. I know that took some work.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Yep, first is definitely a tiger.  Believe it or not, they actually do occur in the wild, though very rarely. And yes, I think they are sterile.   I also think the only way to get them is with a male brown and female brook, though I'm not positive on that.

Both are beauties!

Very nice.  Love the colors on the tiger, a bit different than some others I've seen.  A fish I've never caught.  Good job getting on (and out) safely.

Thanks for the compliments guys.  I cought a bunch of tigers that day but the one in the picture was definately the nicest one.
Monovasia, I live in the Greeley area but obviously I was not fishing anywhere near there.  I don't mind driving a ways to fish.  Hopefully with the colder weather this week we should get some ice on a few more lakes.

Nice fish I'm jealous. We aren't even close to ice yet.
If fishing is a sport are we considered athletes?

Never heard of Tiger Trout... Is it a Hybrid??? Where was it developed or Native to?

Yea, it's a sterile hybrid of a Brown and Brookie.  Most of the ones you will see or hear of caught are from lakes out west and they come out of hatcheries, but they do occur rarely in streams that hold both species and have natural reproduction.
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.
