EVER TRY A GLASS FREE GAS LANTERN?
« on: Nov 07, 2015, 02:01 PM »
i get water from fish on my glass and it cracks it, so i was looking for some thing else and found this. when i can find the glass, it costs almost as the lantern i use. it would be nice to find the lumen on mighty lite lantern to this for comparison.

Bulin Portable Ultralight Compact Camping Gas Lantern
http://www.amazon.com/Portable-Ultralight-Compact-Camping-Lantern/dp/B00JQ2FOP4/ref=pd_sim_468_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=41y9TFBUd%2BL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=090CY9P9MGZ31RB6Q3K1

takes an adapter for lp cans/hose like the coleman 16oz cans. i can't find one that goes right onto a 16 oz coleman lp can.

then if you get the adapter, then you might want a burner too. been looking at these

I've seen people use metal window screen as a globe before...

i just put an order thru. i'll know on the 11th how they do. costs the same as the mighty lite lantern, but i have to keep buying new ones when the glass cracks/breaks. plus the tension tabs break off on the mighty lite.
had great reviews. some had said to ditch the 3 replacement mantels and use the coleman 51 instead, so those are on the way too and the burner.

i seen the screen replacements globes, but i don't use any thing that big. would have been nice if they made them for the tiny lanterns like the mighty lite.

my buddy has the coleman version, but i like the smaller foot print better.

I use the stainless wire mesh for my lantern I have it so long I cant rember where I got it from but most likely cabelas if the lantern your using is smaller than a standard 2 mantel lantern you could modify it to fit and save yourself from buying a new lantern or you may be able to get some stainless window screen and make one I havent bought a glass for my lantern in 20 years and after seeing the price of them im glad I wont have to buy one

My dad broke my lantern two days in a row. Next I bought the screen. Good luck busting that one Pops. It works fine.
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.
