Power Auger throttle cable maintenance
« on: Mar 27, 2015, 12:41 PM »
I have had power augers for decades, but only recently with a throttle cable. The cable getting moisture and of course freezing solid is a pain. Would like to benefit from others misery and hopefully get a no nonsense solution before I melt down. I'm not sure that the make and model is important so much as whether or not it has a cable for throttle control. Thanks for your input.

Keep it dry! Mine did that last Sunday cause it got wet with the rain the weekend before and I left it in the shed. If wet bring into the house and leg it dry out. Cold is never a problem, only if soaked and it freezes! Good luck!

A friend of mine had the same problem we went to Dags in Maine he told us make sure it is dried out then put a few drops of sewing machine down inside the cable as far as i know he has not had that problem again . Good luck
