bootstrap, if you think you've got the hook in deep, maybe you should give it a yank and reel them in...not buying that story...
besides that, if you're foolish enough to admit that you leave fish all over the ice, then you should be watching over your shoulder for the F&W Warden, as that is "Wanton Waste" and they might have something to say about that with you.

Ok I'm from the mid west-whats the deal with "White" perch never seen one. Caught plenty of jumbos upto 15 inchers out of Lake Michigan. I agree leaving ANY fish on the ice is a no no and counts for your daily limit.

hardwater518, you find them where ever the bait is..... those giant schools of smelt. Just use a downrigger and troll anywhere near the schools with a small spoon. go real slow. I seem to have best luck with db's

Winooski River, right after the walleye run, on worms. They can drive you nuts, when you are targeting the eyes.

I just watch my fish finder. But I have caught most of mine close to the bottom in 50'+ fow. And I find too many in the rivers as well. I use bottom bouncers with worms.

filled 2 buckets in 2 hours at dock in st albans bay on sunday, threw back as many as we kept as well.

yeah still in st. albans all over from the concrete dock to black bridge to hathaway point if you venture out in deeper water.
most still haven't spawned yet and getting large ones still.
