Gut conditions report please
« on: Feb 21, 2015, 06:41 PM »
Haven't been there this year and wondering what kind of shape the parking lot is in at the knight island state park. Sometimes they don't plow

Knights Point is plowed out and you can drive right onto the ice.  They have a path plowed down to the beach.  Before the snow tonight, it wasn't too bad getting around on the lake.

The parking lot is all plowed out now.  Sunday morning was a little drifted in, but we still got in / out no problem in 2WD.

**Edit :  the ice itself can be hard going, though.  Not sure if anyone is driving on anymore since there are so many drifts and they are packed HARD.  Buddy of mine got stuck with a plow on a 2500HD on Tuesday ... high centered on top of a drift.

A little bit of everything ... some small perch, bluegills and pumkinseeds jigging, 1 decent pike (6-7lbs) and a couple smaller ones, a dozen or so pickerel and lots of largemouths.  A couple LM's were huge!  We were busy all day, so that was good.  Just no good northerns around.  I think it gets hammered too hard all season and the bigger pike are either caught or have moved out to deeper water.

It is the body of water west of the draw bridge between North Hero and Grand Isle.
