Dick, IMHO the Nils is the sharpest auger out there, nice way to lighten the load ! Someone is getting old.
Bee, my back would go out ,too short for me sir ! See you're from Brunswick, used to fly out of BNAS many times years ago(not as a pilot though !)
Bee that must be light one hand what kind of motor do you have on the auger bit ? Any idea what the total weight is ?
Last season I bought two new Nils hand augers, a 41/2 inch and a 6 inch. The 6 inch will also work with a battery operated hand drill. In December I went to Ebay and purchased a 20 volt Dewalt with two lithiium batteries for $99. For an additional $19 I purchased a stainless steel drill adaptor to go on the 41/2 inch Nills. Total weight of drill and Nils is 8 pounds compared to my 30 pound Jiffy Each of the batteries will do 20 6 inch holes or 30 41/2 inch holes. I use the small auger to run and gun looking for fish with the flasher and swap to the 6 inch if I find a hot spot.I like it
I think that I recognize this post with the augers leaning against it. Drilling must have been easy that day. Dick I'll have to see your setup in action before the season ends.
The one on my right is not that short. It will go through 30 in ice. Next tell me you carry one of those boat anchor jiffy's
yup! Old and crippled
