Just got a frabill 261 ice reel and im looking to match it up with a rod for panfish. saw that the combo is matched up with the frabill quick tip rod. what do you think.

the quick tips are awesome, as sensitive as a spring bobber without the terrible icing issues i personally like the 32" with the 27or 28 close behind.

I have alot of custom rods and i use my Frabil quick tip all the time (go 32 or 36 inch).

I've got the 28''quick tip rod and overall i like it but it doesn't detect lift bites well, you gotta have a 1/8oz or heavier lure to even see a lift bite.

the shorter ones seem to have issue with that, the long 32" does alot better just make sure you get the ones with the bead tip, way easy to see when it gets toward dusk

i have 2 27" quick tip rods and i really like them... really nice for panfish with a super sensitive tip with a good amount of back bone for handling big fish (ie Bass and Trout)
