Oh. THAT type of old fart...  Sorry. I thought this topic was code for smelt.

I've been fishing since 3, but this is only my second season giving it a go through the ice. It seems I missed out on 34 winters. Looking forward to the next 34+.

See you all out there

I'm only 51, but I think I would qualify as a junior member. This is my 40th year on the ice. Last week, went out with 1 experienced fart, 67yrs, and 2 first timer farts, 62, and 70 yrs. What a gas...all outdoorsmen.

Count me in...I am also going to enter my "younger" cousin. He is only 71 but he is out a couple times a week. I give him a ton of credit. He lost a leg in a motorcycle accident a few years ago. He called me from the ice yesterday said he was whipped after cutting 5 holes so I guess he is an Old Fart....h2l

I've always had problems keeping my hands warm (Raynaud's, I think) but now in old age the circulation is getting even worse.  Its in the tent with my Coleman 1 burner or I ain't goin!!  I know its sacrilegious to say this on iceshanty but, Come On Spring!!

I'm not even close to being an Old Fart yet! But, I'll hang out with the rest of you Old Farts!  ;) that GPS of yours will be in the record books for one of the best sellers of all time Freddie!   ;D

That's because you ain't seen my old Gazeteer. It's loaded with notes and fishing spots for most of Ny from Syracuse West.

Re-injured my right knee a few weeks back. Had an issue with it a few years back, never had it it fixed. when i re-injured it this time, i tore mcl, meniscus and got a broken piece of cartilage that needs to be removed. Was going to have this surgery sooner, but, KP can't sit still and it has been inflamed. The doc gave me strong inflammatories to get me ready for surgery.

Yup you're qualified! you're an ole fart already.  If you were a horse we'd be mourning the loss of Larry.
Hope the knee heels up bud.
