Crescent
« on: Jan 21, 2015, 07:54 PM »
I wanted to hit Crescent lake Tuesday morning but after scouting it out Monday, after all that precipitation, the entire lake edges were open. So I waited till this morning to go and it was still thin as I made it on but broke through on the way back.My friend says their holding water back now.
Ice thickness was 10" out in the middle and for my efforts, all I got was a good fish screaming out alot of line before dropping my 4" shiner. Was it ever so sloooooooooow.

I fished Crescent lake in Enfield which is private. More like a pond than a lake.

There's another crescent pond out there! I fished the one in Southington with my two cousins Tuesday. It was still well frozen on the edges there-and the ice is 7"+ everywhere I drilled. caught a bass+ two perch-missed a few flags. The only open area is the outlet by the dam; which someone was set up around.-

We can all meet and get on the lake on the jail side. I saw pics of a 81/2 and 10 1/2 lb large mouth this summer on a 298 wacky worm!!! Wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see the conference center in the background and was caught by another retired corrections employee!
A bad day of ice fishing is better than any day at work!
