I have a Clam Nanook Thermal and love it. It’s tight as a two-person rig but roomy for solo fishing with two rods. Like most flips, it can be a tough pull in snow without a ski-sled underneath. If you plan to pull without a machine, avoid the temptation to “trick out” a flip since mods = weight. When shopping, it’s a good idea to look closely at the seats and framework since that’s likely to be the major source of weight.
I need sunlight in the winter and only fish in a shelter when it’s absolutely necessary. A flip gives you the ability to instantly raise and lower the roof or just set it up as a windbreak.
