Just wanted to give everybody some ice condition updates since it's been on the minds of many participants.

I drilled a bunch of test holes on Falcon on Friday, March 13. We have more ice than we have ever had for the derby with 29". Snow cover was minimal and there was about 1" of water on the ice. This year is very similar to 2012, except not as warm as it was that year. That year there was only 22" of ice and things went off without any issues. We do recommend bringing out some ice cleats for added traction, as the overnight lows will freeze any standing water and may make things slick.

I have received a handful of calls with a rumour that the derby has been cancelled, and obviously that's not the case so if anybody out there hears any talk about that, please make the correction!
