great way to keep tourney card dry
« on: Jan 05, 2006, 09:50 PM »
Heres a great inexpensive way to keep your tourney card form getting wet . I know most guys have one or two of these license holders laying around the house .Its an easyand  cheap way to protect your card . If you really want to water proof it put a small piece of duct tape over the slot in the back. Has a pin on it to so its harder to lose . just thought I would share.

It would also be easy to recognize other members if we all wore them as backtags...

I'm Lucky where I work we keep a laminating machine in the office. So I also just print the card and take her to work and have it laminated. Then no problems

If you can't do anything above... I just take some clear packing tape and put a couple pieces on each side making sure there is no spot without it. Haven't had any trouble yet.

People might start wondering why you keep walking behind them to "check if they're members"  ;)

just to make sure I didnt misplace the tourney card(s) I ran off about 7-8 cards, and cut to size.....over to the local printing shop and had them laminated on one sheet....cut to size and going to make sure I have a couple left at the shanty, one in my pocket....and a couple in my rod pail....and they wont get wet.....Grump

That's exactly what I did as well ;)

I like Hali's idea of wearing them as back tags.

If you put the fish on your back, then it might not lie flat and the ruler wouldn't measure correctly. Now if you used the soft ruler this might work out for you ;-)

Why do the tags have to be "back tags" anyway, just where them on the front. Then it would also be a conversation starter when some non ice shanty members ask what tourney is that!!
