Lake Missaukee (Lake City)
« on: Jan 13, 2015, 09:08 AM »
A group of friends and I go up every year during a long weekend, this year we moved it up hoping to get some better action (fishing).

Anyone know of the reports for fish lately, what they're catching and on what?  Any info would be helpful!

We also may try spearing, however this will be a first for everyone if we attempt that!

Bump

We went last weekend, the fishing was hot garbage.  Never caught a pike (like in years past), caught a bunch of dink perch, and literally no other panfish.  We caught one 12" walley, but allegedly the DNR planted 100,000 eyes this past fall/summer.  Yes, 100,000 not 10,000.

I know there is good fish in that lake, but I was with a bunch of drinkers...not fishers.

Primarily the South east side, but also some smack in the middle where there is allegedly weed beds.

it is a very sand lake, there are about 6-7 primary weedbeds thru-ought the lake. Most of the weedbeds are only 7-8 foot of water and most of the panfish have moved to the little bit deeper water. East side of the lake is typically a bit deeper, with the big hole In front of town. Typically North side of the lake is popular for Panfish, Pike, south side just east of green lake launch. I use to live on the lake and fished it extensively, but it is a lake that changes yearly for sure.
