Southern NH Ice
« on: Jan 03, 2015, 06:48 AM »
This all may be moot after tomorrow but...Checked out my local pond.  The ice is nice and clear and the lake looks locked up from what I could see.   I chiseled out a hole and measured 3 inches.  I was in a cove and in about 2ft of water.  Hopefully most of it survives and next week the temps look great for ice making.  Check as you go and stay safe!  Hopefully next weekend we'll be able to get on in Southern NH.

I hope so OC.  Let's hope the ice gods have mercy on us after tomorrow's weather!

I've also been all over the Nashua area.  Same story here as far as ice thickness goes.  Cold temps next week should give us good ice.  I wanted to go up to the Sunapee area this morning but the wife veto'd my trip as she is concerned.

Wife took me to Bass Pro.  Nice alternative to fishing.  She bought me the Clam Auger Drill Plate to turn my cordless drill and auger into a power auger.  Tim Moore, NH Ice Fishing Guide, was there as well so I took the opportunity to pepper him with questions.  Now I'm really ready!

Sweet!  How was the turnout?  A lot of people there?

I will definitely be out somewhere next weekend

Tim's traffic was consistent.  I imagine more will show up later.  If anyone heads up don't go straight up thru Manchester.  Real bad accident at exit 6 on the Everett.
