what size fishing line

What size fishing line is the best all around size to use.

I'm a trout guy only not that I won't give the vex a workout on craps and Whitey Bulgers when waiting for flags, but I use 6lb. Flouro for Brookies, Browns, Rainbows, and lakers. I have situations with finicky trout where I'll drop down to 4lb or days on lakers where I'll up it to 8lb but all around overall I use 6 for everything with no issues.

X2 except that I usually use a 8lb flouro for lakers

I use thirty pound braid with an eight pound fluorocarbon leader.

I was thinking about 6 as an all around size but I wasn't sure and still fairly new to the ice fishing game.

I use 6 lb and 4lb, 4lb on my ultralight jig rods, 6 lb on my medium action. And on my trout tip ups I use 4 lb Seaguar abrizix ice.

Im usually a warmwater guy- 10lb flouro leader... When trout fishing i use a 6lb flouro leader

It depends what kind of fish you target.My laker traps have 8lb flouro. heavy jig rod has 15lb braid to 8lb flouro. Medium jig rod has 6lb mono.Trout traps have 6lb flouro. Light jig rod has 4 lb mono. The rest of my traps have 10lb mono.
