I saw this as well.  I'll leave my opinions out of it, but I'm definitely jealous... ha

What I would give for a day on the water like that. Only thing is I wouldn't be keeping em, LOVE! to catch fish, hate cleaning em unless my fiance wants a fish dinner.

Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I'll remember some of it. Involve me and I will have lifetime knowledge.

Jealous of the quality of those fish. That looks like an absolute blast but it is tough to watch for me.

I have never ice fished Lake Erie But I have fished it several times on open water.  I can understand everyones concern about taking larger fish.  In my local lakes it would be a sin for sure.. But let me tell you Lake Erie has the title "walleye Capital of the world" for a reason.  I'm not sure if I have caught a walleye under 25 inches. Fact is if I would only take home "eating sized" (15" -18").. I'd go home empty handed... Average size for me runs around 27-28".   Usually I can catch my limit in 4 to 6 hours of fishing.   And I am by no means an expert !   Far from it..

Lake Erie walleye limits (least on the Pa side) are not determined until later spring after the pa fish commission and other agencies determine population densities (how ever they do that)..  Point being is that Lake Erie is a well managed walleye fishery and catching limits of large walleye is the norm.  The way I see it, ..as long as the fish are being caught legally and not going to waste there is nothing wrong in taking home a limit of large walleye from Lake Erie.

What part of Erie would this be? Could a Michigander be able to get into this?
