Help with Jiffy Auger model30
« on: Dec 06, 2014, 09:10 AM »
I have an older model 30. Over the years the motorhead as well as the bit seemed to loosen up on me. I have looked on the internet and cant seem to find out if i can fix it. I found some basic diagrams and intructions but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it. Thanks. Tight Lines!!!

Is it loose where the auger bit attaches to the motor, mine was slightly loose on my model 30, but not enough to be a problem, a thin piece of copper(you can get it in a sheet) wrapped around the shaft may work you can get it in various thicknesses its called shim stock, get a feeler gauge the one that has the wire type and tip the auger to one side and see bow many thousands you got then divide that by 2 and that will get you close to the thickness you will need to take up the play, good luck
